Wat Phra Yai

It is also known as the Big Buddha Temple located 3-Kilometres away from the main Island. The temple has a big Golden Buddha statue of 12 meters high which depicts the calm posture where he has overcome the temptation and fear. It’s one of the main tourist attractions in Koh Samui. It was built in 1972.

Hin Ta and Hin Yai

It’s located on the Koh Samui’s South Coast; Ta means Grandpa and Yai means Grandma.

It’s a place with natural rock formation which takes a shape of male and female genitalia. As fascinating as they look, it holds folklore which says that an old couple went to meet a man named Ta Monglai to marry his daughter with their son. Unfortunately, on their way, they died on the storm and hence turned into rocks. The place is really spectacular.

Na Muang Waterfall

Na Muang is located amid the lush green forest and beware of the steep and slippery path. The waterfall looks milky while pouring from top to down, swim around or picnic around, even go for hiking around the area.

It’s a great place for families to have a relaxing time. There are many stalls where you can enjoy snacks along the way.

Secret Buddha Garden

The Secret Buddha Garden is also known as Heaven Garden and many other names are also given to this place. It’s a really beautiful place and was created and built by an innovative farmer, Nim Thongsuk, who has also built many sculptures of deities, humans, and animals of different poses. They all depict some mythological legend behind it. He continued to build it until he died at 91.



Its located between the forests, it’s a fascinating park where always you will stumble upon a hidden sculpture and also with a waterfall on this place. It looks magnificent.

Ang Thong National Marine Park

It has 42 islands within it with mountains having lush jungles, white-sand beaches waterfalls, lakes, etc. It covers more than 100 square kilometers of land and sea area and has varieties of wildlife and marine life.

Visitors can enjoy snorkeling, hiking, diving, etc and even an overnight stay on the bungalows or camping tents. To protect the flora and fauna, the places are forbidden from more development.

Wat Plai Laem

A Buddhist temple compound with a huge statue of Guanyin having an 18 arms image, the goddess of mercy and Compassion.

It takes inspiration from the Chinese-Thai beliefs; Guanyin helps women who face difficulties bearing children and also protect the Sailors.

She is a source of love and protection. The temple is really vibrant with amazing architecture and designs and is located in the middle of a lake providing a soothing atmosphere.

On the contrary, It’s less crowded but provides accommodations, restaurants, shopping areas, some great spas, and tourist sites.

Maenam Beach

It provides privacy to the tourist as compared to other beaches.

Lipa Noi Beach

It’s best for children having shallow water of 100 meters with no rocks and corals in the water.
